The study

Who took part

100 second-year students at a university in Egypt, put by chance into four groups of 25. They were not picked for putting things off.

What they did

For about eight weeks, students studied how to design online tests before class, then discussed it in class. The lesson came as a video or as an infographic. Help was either built into the lesson or students were told to search Google and YouTube.

What happened

At the end, students with built-in help said they put things off less than those sent to outside sites. Students with the infographic said they put things off a bit less than those with the video. Infographic with built-in help did best. Putting things off was only measured at the end, parts of the paper are garbled and some numbers don't add up.
