The study

  1. Who took part

60 adults in Iran with moderate to severe OCD. Just over half were women, and the most common age was 29 to 39. They weren't chosen for problems with planning or focus.

  2. What they did

Everyone took the OCD medicine escitalopram every day for 16 weeks. Half also took memantine every day, and half took a dummy pill that looked the same.

  3. What happened

Both groups rated their time management better after 16 weeks, and the memantine group improved slightly more. The groups started at different levels. This was one of six parts of the questionnaire, and the other five parts and OCD symptoms showed no difference. Some of the paper's numbers don't add up.
